About Tour Guide Shonosuke S.

Hi! I'm Sho! I live in the center of Nagasaki city and work as a YouTuber, podcaster, and tour guide specializing in sharing the charms of Nagasaki.

Actually, I was born and raised in Yokohama, near Tokyo, and worked for about 5 years in Tokyo. However, I fell in love with the culture and history of Nagasaki and moved here in 2020.

Nagasaki has a rich history of international exchange and friendship, established about 450 years ago as an international trading port in Japan. Since then, many people from all over the world with diverse cultures and values have visited this city. I love these stories and histories of Nagasaki.

Nagasaki is often associated with the sad history of the atomic bomb, which is, of course, an important part of this city's history, but Nagasaki has much more than that. I'm looking forward to introducing you to the many charms of Nagasaki!

Historic City and Hidden Local Gems

Our tour guide Sho is truly amazing tour guide. On the last day of our Nagasaki tour he did not just showed us what’s on our itinerary but he invited us to his personal space in his traditional Japanese home. We do appreciated his gesture, it was very sweet of him. He made us feel special like we known each other for a long time. His home is close to the shrine and it’s absolutely lovely. Thank you very much Sho for touring us around amazing Nagasaki and of course for opening your home to us you did not have to do that. Showing us what is the traditional Japanese home look like, we truly feel privileged. Unforgettable experience.️

Thank you so much for the wonderful three days! Over the past three days, it was a real pleasure to show you so many different sides of Nagasaki—from the famous highlights to some hidden gems (and even my home!). I think we've covered almost all of the city's major sights! I also really enjoyed all of our conversations along the way. I hope your time in Nagasaki will become one of your cherished memories. You're always welcome back, so please come visit Nagasaki again anytime! :)
