Mt. Fuji nearby tour

Motoyuki H. San picked us up from the Shimizu port once we disembarked from the ship terminal on July 12, 2026. We were three adults hoping to see Mt. Fuji close by. Our first view spot was Lake Tanuki, which was an hour drive from the port. We enjoyed the beautiful lake and saw the clouds covering Mt. Fuji. Next we proceeded to Shiraido waterfalls. Because it was a cloudy day, we still couldn’t see much of the mountain from another view spot. Motoyuki helped us with the best waterfall observatory spot and took my daughter Rachel to see the waterfalls down. We had the sweetest locally grown peach at a fruit stand before a great lunch and ice cream nearby. We opted out visiting the Fujisan Hongu Sengen shrine - not to miss if you climb Mt. Fuji. We had a quick stop at a tea drinking garden and learnt about tea ceremony before heading back. Our last stop was Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, an eye opener and a must UNESCO visit to learn more about the nature, culture and history of Mt. Fuji. We enjoyed our outing tremendously. Motoyuki is an excellent guide in terms of knowledge and experience. He is very approachable, friendly, a good driver and speaks excellent English. He is also an experienced mountaineer and climbed Mt. Fuji and other mountains in Japan many times. If you ever wanted to climb Mt. Fuji, seek out Motoyuki, you’ll be in good hands. Thank you Motoyuki for a wonderful day.

Thank you for the review and scoring! I am glad to hear that you were satisfied with the tour. I believe that Mt. Fuji will come into view in the next time. As you figured out, there are so many places to see in the area. Hope to come again, and I will show them to you. Arigatou!

Outstanding tour with Moto

Our group of 6 had a fantastic tour with our tour guide, Moto. Moto was very flexible so we were able to modify our itinerary. Mt. Fuji was visible on our tour and we had great views from Shiraito no Taki Waterfalls. Moto took us to a tea house and it was one of the highlights of our trip. His explanation of the tea ceremony was much appreciated. Highly recommend this tour and guide.

Thanks for the review and five-star rating! And I appreciate your respect for our nature and culture. As you watched at the waterfalls, the issue has raised some travelers break the rule... We hope to keep sincere hospitality to welcome guests, like the family at the tea place. See you again!

Fantastic Tour!

Outstanding tour with Moto. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. Was able to design an itinerary that avoided crowds and maximized the day. As an accomplished mountaineering guide who grew up in the area, Moto has interesting stories and perspectives.

Thanks for the review! I was happy to show you where I grew up. Still, there is local interest for tourists, and I believe many hidden attractions can be promoted. I hope you have realized that and will remember the trip!
