“Discovering Takayama with a True Local ”

Our trip to Takayama was truly memorable, largely thanks to George. Our party of 10 did a half-day tour around Takayama, where he showed us local shops and hidden spots and shared a lot about the culture and history of Takayama. We enjoyed it a lot. George was also amazing with the kids, which was truly appreciated. His local knowledge and warm personality made us feel really welcomed by the locals we met along the way. All in all, it was a great half-day tour, and we are very thankful to George for making our time in Takayama so special!

We had a wonderful day with George. He was very thoughtful and kind; he took us to beautiful sights and we did have an amazing experiences doing different things, meeting with locals and explaining all the history and cultural things to us. He also engaged with the kids very nicely and he even had a little detail with them that they treasure a lot! He made every effort for us to be comfortable and it was easy to plan everything with him, always open for suggestions. It was a pleasure to meet him! And the food was delicious! “A Fabulous Tour with Fabulous Guide ”

We had a fabulous time with George over 2 days exploring Takayama, Shirakawago and Kamikochi. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and our sons looked forward to going out with him. George was great at engaging our boys and giving them quizzes about the areas we visited. George was flexible and attentive to what we were looking for in our trip. The weather was a bit unpredictable and he kept his eye on the possibility of rain and communicated clearly about expectations. We were lucky with the weather and had a little misty day in Shirakawago, but dreamy beautiful weather in Kamikochi! Having a guide was so helpful. A bonus with George is that he is from Takayama he knew the area really well. Our biggest regret was only spending three nights in Takayama. We would have loved to explore more of the area. I would highly recommend booking George for your tour! The more time we spent with him, you could hear his English skills improve the more we chatted. I have no doubt that as he continues to guide he will become even more proficient.
