Hello! I’m Koichiro. Please call me “Yamasan”. It derives from my family name and my friends call me so. I worked for a machinery company as a project manager and engineer for mechanical and electrical construction projects both domestic and overseas for over 35 years. I recall my first overseas project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when I was 26, and the second was in Singapore. I visited many countries for surveys, meetings, commissioning, project handing over, and so on. In 2014 at the age of 60, I decided to retire from the company and live the expected further 30 years of life with a new career and experiences. I, then, studied translation and guide interpretation. I passed the national examination for licensed guides (English) in 2015 and registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in February 2016. Until now, I have been guiding many beautiful guests mainly to popular sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Tsukiji, Omote-Sando, Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Tokyo Skytree, and also cultural experiences of Origami making, Furoshiki wrapping, and Sushi cooking. I am happy that I can freely arrange a customized tour together with you, or can propose my tours to you. I want to show you some parts of daily Tokyo life and introduce you to Bunkyo City which is located in the heart of Tokyo, just north of Chiyoda City where the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station are. The city is Tokyo’s typical residential and academic area where I was born, grew up, and live a happy life now. Now, we can tour around the world but have not yet overcome COVID-19 completely. Recently, the number of passengers wearing masks on public transportation in Tokyo reduced to some 25% but we should mind about it still. Please carry your mask to wear it where or when necessary (December 2024, Yamasan).

I had worked for the Japan's biggest travel agency JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) for 35 years as a tour escort for Japanese. I visited 68 countries and of course all over Japan as well. So I’m familiar with almost all of the tourist attractions in Japan. More over I’m also a professional magician now. I’m a member magician of The Magic Castle in Hollywood in US. That's why I made a decision to become an English tour guide. I acquired a tour guide license issued by the Japanese government with a lot of hard work in 2016 and I started from the following year. I work as an English guide approximately 130 days a year. My wife is physically disabled, and I usually care for her. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I receive home care and bathing services, so I am unable to go out during the day as I have to prepare for and clean up afterwards. I am available to guide on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I can take up to four people sightseeing in my private car. “Pleasant Guide”
Very pleasant guide and in touch with the "teenage". Had a last minute request to see the $20 dollars strawberry but obvious she did not call ahead to make sure it was there so ran around to two places with no luck. Otherwise all was good and she did a decent job accommodating my daughters mobility issues. Young guide who is good but will develop to be excellent. Very pleasant person.

“Great Guide”
Yuta I. is a fantastic and highly knowledgeable guide. My family and I had a wonderful time on the tour and learned a great deal about Kyoto. He was very attentive to our individual interests and adapted the tour accordingly. This is exactly what you’d hope for from a tour with a knowledgeable, local guide. “Amazing Day with Mark and Family”
We had an amazing day in Nagasaki with Mark and family. Mark made it work seamlessly for our family of 6. It was so convenient for us and we all learned a lot. We enjoyed a fun lunch together where we learned how to eat at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. This was followed by a visit to a beautiful beach. We were also gifted a delicious local cake. Mark was flexible and responsive. I would highly recommend his tour.
