Miaomiao W.
I’ve been a licensed English-Japanese tour guide since 2004! I know Shenzhen well—I’ll tell you stories about the "dragon’s sons" on ancient roofs and take you to try high-tech fun like flying cars, drones, humanoid robots, and self-driving taxis, super exciting! I’m great at shopping too. I know exactly where to go for the best deals: cheap gadgets as gifts, real-looking knockoffs at China’s top high-end clothing market, and 2-carat lab-grown diamonds for just 2000+RMB. You might even find a business chance you didn’t expect. Need to visit factories? I can help—show you around, assist with negotiations, or find factories if you don’t have one. After the order is set, I’ll follow up on the progress and help arrange shipping. I’ve ordered clothes, jewelries, frames, lens from factories myself, so I’m super experienced and reliable! I’m flexible, down-to-earth and easy to get along with. I’ll make a customized itinerary fast, no generic cookie-cutter tours—just breathtaking spots tailored just for your taste. Traveling with me is anything but boring, and you won’t need cold translator apps at all. I’ll share your joys and listen to you vent if things go wrong. Your Shenzhen trip will be totally worth it!

Amy X.
Hi, I'm Amy. Born and raised in Chengdu, I've been designing custom travel experiences for international visitors since 2011. I help travellers, families, and business groups explore China on their own terms — whether that's sipping tea in a hidden garden, visiting a UNESCO World Heritage site, or connecting with local business leaders. Every itinerary I create is built from scratch around your interests, pace, and curiosity. What I Offer: Cultural Immersion — Go beyond the guidebook. Meet local artisans, visit family-run workshops, and experience traditions most tourists never see: tea ceremonies with masters, Sichuan opera backstage, and hands-on crafts like bamboo weaving and silk-making. Nature & Scenery — From Chengdu's giant pandas to Zhangjiajie's limestone peaks, I know the best routes, the best times to visit, and the quiet spots away from the crowds. Study Tours & Business Visits — I arrange factory visits, industry meetings, and cultural exchange programmes for universities, professional groups, and corporate teams across China. I handle logistics so you can focus on the connections. Family & Private Groups — Travelling with children or older family members? I design flexible, comfortable itineraries that work for everyone. Why Choose Me? I'm not just a guide — I'm your local partner. I've spent years building relationships with drivers, hoteliers, restaurant owners, and cultural practitioners across China. When you travel with me, you get more than a planned route — you get someone who cares about the details, listens to what you actually want, and adapts when things change. Whether it's your first time in China or your tenth, I'll help you see it in a way that feels personal, genuine, and memorable. Let's start planning. Send me a message and tell me what you're looking for.

Rory M.
Growing up between Hong Kong and Scotland, Rory was never a stranger to adventure. Whether it was scaling munros in the Scottish Highlands or the finding new waterfalls in the New Territories of HK, he was always keen to utilise any opportunity to explore. After finishing school, he got his first taste of a big adventure sailing an 80ft yacht from Scotland to the Svalbard archipelago near the North Pole. His post school years were then spent working and skiing in New Zealand & travelling around Southeast Asia. All of this, before moving to Australia to pursue degree in architecture. Whilst studying, Rory completed a solo bicycle trip across Vietnam and China, cycling from Saigon to Hong Kong. He wrote a book based on the experience that led to greater endeavours in the ensuing years. With university done, Rory proceeded to tackle a bigger challenge; cycling across Africa. He completed the solo ride from Cape Town to Cairo within 5 months, with a few eye-opening experiences along the way to say the least! His recent kayaking expeditions around Hong Kong, trekking in the Himalayas and climbing of some high altitude routes in the Andes other notable experiences among many. As an experienced traveller, he enjoys meeting other travellers and showing them a different side to Hong Kong. Having grown up there, he has a unique insight into many facets of 'HK' life.

Hi there! I’m Scarlett, a licensed English-speaking guide based in Hangzhou and covering the gorgeous Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang region. My friends often call me a bit of a story-collector. Having graduated from Cambridge with a degree in sociology, I love going beyond the standard postcard views to help you understand the real, living pulse of China (e.g. local stories, hidden details, and quirky histories most tourists walk right past). Everything I do is entirely customized around your vibe. Whether you’re dreaming of a zen day sipping tea in mist-shrouded valleys, hunting down the best under-the-radar street eats, or chasing futuristic, cyberpunk cityscapes for that perfect shot, we can design it from scratch. We can easily explore on foot, but if you want to travel in total comfort and style, I also offer car tours with my own very cozy private wheels, perfect for escaping the summer heat or zipping between hidden spots. Pima W.
Hi, I'm Pima! I'm a licensed English-speaking guide in Hangzhou. I moved to Hangzhou from northern China in 2012, drawn by its lakes, tea mountains, and the weight of a thousand years of poetry. My background isn't your typical guide story. I started as a journalist, then became the only content strategist in a marketing department before I found my true calling: telling stories about places. I'm also a museum docent and a bird watcher, which means I spend my off hours in galleries and nature. What I bring to a tour: It's the result of hundreds of books, academic papers, and conversations with local elders. I specialize in the Dynasties in China, and the old shiny civilization. My tours are built on stories. Ask me about tea and I'll take you to the actual source. Ask me about history and I'll show you where poets once carved their verses into stone. Ask me what else I love and I'll tell you: birdwatching, stargazing, 3D printing, and finding quiet corners of this city that even locals don't know exist. I don't rush. And I genuinely believe that the best tours feel less like a tour and more like walking through history with a friend who happens to know a lot. Come explore China with me. Let's make a real conversation.

In addition to culture and history, I am a passionate outdoor enthusiast with 15 years of trekking experience in the lush mountains surrounding Hangzhou. China Tour Reviews
Peter D.
“Enjoy a wonderful 2-hour private guided tour of the Summer Palace with John !”
Special thanks to John, who once again provided me with a two-hour private tour of the Summer Palace—it was a fantastic experience. This wasn’t my first time touring with him, and he continued to impress us this time around. Given my limited time, he managed the pace of the tour perfectly, avoiding the most crowded spots while still covering all the major highlights. His commentary was natural and fluid, never sounding like he was reading from a script—he shared many little-known historical anecdotes and interesting local stories, bringing this ancient palace complex to life. I especially appreciated his keen ability to understand my needs, his patience in answering all questions, and even the photography tips he shared along the way. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. Although the tour was only two hours long, I gained far more than we expected. It was absolutely a perfect experience, and I’ll definitely book John’s tour again the next time I visit Beijing. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a guide who is both easygoing and knowledgeable.

John T.
Dear Peter, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. It means a great deal to me. I thoroughly enjoyed our two-hour stroll through the Summer Palace. I’m glad our pace worked well for your group, and I’m delighted that you enjoyed hearing those little local stories that go beyond the main attractions. I always enjoy it when visitors ask all sorts of spontaneous questions—it’s exactly what makes each tour unique and fun. Thank you for choosing me as your guide once again. It was a real pleasure to see an old friend and share Beijing’s history with you. I hope the rest of your trip to China goes smoothly. If you ever have the chance to visit Beijing again, I’d be more than happy to show you around once more. Best regards, John

“Four-hour Historic Heartbeat:Tian’anmen Square & Forbidden City Walking Tour with Tickets included”
